1. Which project was your most successful? Describe the theme and or topic and the process you went through to complete the project. Were the choices you made regarding subject, design and technique beneficial to enhancing this project. Do you feel you needed more instruction for success? Explain or did you feel that the instruction given was enough to ensure success? Explain.
I feel like my Landscape painting was my most successful project. We had to find a picture we took or a combination of different pictures if we used pictures offline. Then we painted our canvas red orange to help make the colors more vibrant and make it easier for the paint to go on the canvas. We learned how to make different colors mixing the three primary colors red, blue, and yellow. I loved mixing the paint and making different tints, tones, and shades. I feel like all the instruction I got was very helpful. I learn how to make the sky look more realistic by adding shades of blue and highlights of pink. I did the same with the ground by adding shades of green and highlighting with yellow. My favorite thing I got to make in my painting was all the trees. I especially like painting the trees in the foreground. I think they turned out really great. I think it looks a lot like the picture of the zoo I use.

2. Discuss one project where you felt you were the least successful. Explain why you felt this way. What would you do differently to change this piece? Explain.
I felt like my Perspective project was my hardest/least successful. Although it looked okay, I felt like it took too long. I also didn't like all the planning we had to do to make it look good. I had to use a ruler to make sure that all the lines were perfect and were aligned to point of perspective. I often found myself procrastinating this project because I didn't like all the little details I had to do. I also felt like the coloring took away from the drawing because I didn't quite know how to shade with the medium I was using. So once it was finished I would have whether not have colored it. If I could do it all over again I would add more detail and make everything more precisest. This project I just didn't like but I did learn a new technique to use when I'm drawing.
3. Look at your body of work over the semester and choose 2 pieces that show your growth as an artist. Discuss each piece and how you grew in the following areas: application of materials, techniques and skills, artistic vision, use of the principles and elements, creativity, intuition and subject matter.
I think that my Clay Tile shows my growth as an artist. I learned how to work with clay and it was quite fun to learn how to shape and create things using clay. I used many different tools but the tools I used most was the X-ACTO knife and the this one tool with a small ball at the end of it. My favorite part was making the corral using the tool with the ball at the end. The fish was also fun to make. I liked carving the little details like the scars and the fins. The second thing that shows my growth as an artist is the perspective drawing. Although I didn't like this project I feel like I learned the most while doing this. I learned about lines and making sure I get the details right. I also learned how to make letters look like they are getting further and further away. I know this project is going to help me in the future to make sure everything looks proportional.

4. Choose a piece or artwork where the subject matter reflects you as an artist. One that you have a personal connection to. Please explain your choice. Include photos and explain thoroughly.
The artwork that reflects me as an artist is the black and white cut out. In this project we had to chose a type of music and a culture. I chose Indie music and Ireland culture. We then did 4 thumbnails for each topic and from those 8 thumbnails we had to chose 2 of the best. Then we did drafts for the 2 best thumbnails. Out of those two I chose the Indie music one inspired by the 1975. I worked really hard on it and it really shows how much I like getting details right. The hardest thing for me was gluing every piece down. I loved this project because it represents my love for music. It really shows how much music inspires me and my work, especially The 1975. If I had my way all my art projects for this class would have been music or The 1975 related. I also like that it was black and white because those are The 1975 colors. I also think that the X-ACTO was a lot of fun as long as it was a sharp one. Over all in this project I think that I have the most personal connection to.

5. What medium was your favorite to work with? Explain.
My favorite medium to work with was the paint. I have many reasons for loving working with the paint. One reason I loves working with the paint was because it felt easy and simple for me to paint. Mixing the primary colors (red, blue, and yellow) and the secondary colors (purple, orange, and green) made using the primary colors was a lot of fun. Creating texture was a little difficult but I found a technique that make the trees look realistic. Also, the sky and the ground was lots of fun to do. I loved mixing different shades blues for the sky with highlights of pin and mixing different shades of green for the ground. I really think that it looks like a the sky and ground in my zoo picture. The second reason I enjoyed painting was if I messed up i could either whip off the paint if it was still wet or I could just paint right over it. Surprisingly it didn't happen a lot. If you mess up you just have to go with it and I liked that. I loved how realistic my foreground trees looked and how easy it was to make them look like that. They looked flat and it was as simple as adding white highlights to make them look more realistic. Then the trees in the background were a very dark shade of purple and I think that made them look really cool. The last reason I loved painting was because I could mix my own colors and create different shades, tint, and value by adding white, black, or a little bit more of one color. I just love how pretty and simple everything was when it came to painting.
